This 173,000 sf school replacement provided the Dekalb County School District with their first "Future-Ready" middle school that incorporates many 21st century design features. The students will utilize the expansive main circulation area that integrates an amphitheater collaborative stair and the "deconstructed" media center that serves as the active hub and heart of the school. An abundance of glass provides natural light and views of the natural surroundings and the exterior instructional spaces in the courtyard. Glass garage doors open up spaces to provide a more flexible learning environment and connections to exterior spaces.

 

Managed $1.2 million A/E design fee and a design team of two to three staff.
